About Us

The Trevlac Online Student Management (TOSM) system represents the fourth generation of Trevlac software. Since the 1970s, Trevlac has continuously evolved to meet the changing technology needs of schools across Canada and internationally. The company began as a service bureau providing student administration services, then transitioned in the early 1980s to developing in-house software that allowed schools to manage student data directly using MS-DOS–based systems. As technology advanced, Trevlac continued refining its solutions to deliver more efficient, flexible, and accessible tools for student administration, ultimately leading to the modern cloud-based TOSM platform used today.

In the mid-1980s, we advanced to Xenix-based, multi-user systems and then transitioned to a Windows product in the early 1990s. Our first Windows product was re-written in the mid-1990s to keep pace with updates in the Windows platform. As internet access expanded in schools, we introduced our first online product for First Nation student administration in the late 2000s. Development of the Trevlac Online Student Management system began in 2013, with the first installations completed in 2015. With the proper permissions, users can now access our fully cloud-based system from any computer with an internet connection.

The primary reason for our long-term success has been our outstanding staff, both past and present. Many have been with us for over 20 years, and one team member has contributed more than 40 years of service. They are deeply committed to our clients and our company, consistently striving to deliver their best. The ability of our staff to adapt to industry changes and challenges—and the fact that we have maintained our position as a leading provider for so many years—demonstrates their dedication, flexibility, and willingness to grow alongside an evolving educational environment.

Over the decades, this commitment has allowed us to build long-lasting relationships with our clients. We are especially proud that one of our major clients partnered with us for 48 years, and many of our current clients have been using Trevlac solutions for more than 35 years, a testament to the trust and reliability that continue to define our software and services.
